Despite being named 'King of Fighters 2006' this a actually a sequel to King of Fighters: Maximum Impact. Everyone from the previous game is in this game, plus some characters from the 2D games, such as Geese and Takuma, and some totally new characters, such Ninon and Luise (who is my favorite character in this game, by the way) Remember Hyena (the one who told who you're fighting next) from the last game? He's back in this game as well as an unlockable character.They've improved from the last game. They brought in some new features such as counter, where you can counter moves. There's also the Mission mode where you fight someone under certain requirements or even destroying a car or a tank. I find that to be kind of fun. One downside is that many unlockable characters are a lot alike the original characters. They could have gave them more original moves.

SNK fighting games are known to have very hard bosses, but the boss in this game (Jivatma) isn't too hard at all. He's kind of hard, but nothing like other SNK bosses. He's still a little harder than Duke from the original Maximum Impact though.
